story of my life

the cutuli-franklin wedding blew kim kardashians out of the park, and i can say that without having even seen the kardashian wedding on e.  i never want to forget this weekend.

from my spot in the bridal party, i watched shane as he cried while sara walked down the aisle with her dad.  she was crying too.  her parents gave her away, and then sara read her vows.  as soon as she finished, shane whispered “you’re perfect.” and every single person there just collectively melted, because we could all hear him since the microphone caught it.  and then shane read the vows he had written, and they were so beautiful, so obviously full of love for sara.  when paul (shane’s dad who was officiating) said he could kiss sara, he did so—twice, before they rocked down the aisle to anberlin’s time and confusion.  the rest of us couples followed suit.

once inside, it was a blur of food, music, laughter, and most importantly, love.  the way that shane looks at sara, the way he always knows where she is in a room, the way he is so attuned to her presence, and vice versa, you can tell that she is his world.  they’re each other’s best friends, and the love of their lives.  that is what it means to be someone’s soulmate.

i might be a hopeless romantic, but that’s the kind of love that everyone is looking for, because that is the only thing that will matter.  finding that one other person who is your other half, who loves you no matter what may come.  it was so touching to see that in person.

when i congratulated shane after my toast, i told him that i didn’t know him very well, so i wasn’t sure what to write in my speech (which ill post after this).  then i said “but it doesn’t matter to me, because i know that you make sara incredibly, ridiculously happy, and that’s good enough for me.”  and he told me “well, it works both ways.”

he’s such a good man, who is going to take good care of one of my best friends.  i might cry again just thinking about how beautiful it all was.  

i wish i had brought my camera chord so i could upload pictures now, because there are some really epic ones from the wedding and bachelorette party (but thats another story, haha) and stuff.
